By the Community, for the Community
Designed ‘by the Community, for the Community‘, it was always intended to develop a broader role of engaging the local population, with representation from all our stakeholders while being a window for the world on ‘all things Coddenham’.
Our news pages therefore are continuing to grow with up to date information for our village and wider parish, with further insight into local life and activities provided by our History Club, Community Shop, the Coddenham Club, Church, the Coddenham Centre and other local charities that support the site and community.
This is a thriving village, established before Roman times, that works together to support each other while welcoming visitors and communication from across the country and around the World.
The Coddenham Community Response Group
The Coddenham Community Response Group (CCRG) was originally established as The Coddenham COVID19 Response Group to collaborate in helping and supporting the parish, particularly those most vulnerable and isolated. This part of of our role is unchanged, but in September 2020, with the agreement of all those represented, we adjusted our name to reflect our broader collaboration for the benefit of all. We nonetheless remain alert to the ongoing threat of COVID19 and urge anyone in the Parish to make contact if they are in need of support, or know of someone who is.
Our services continue to include:
- this dedicated website: www.coddenham-parish.uk
- a dedicated support email: email@example.com
- a support phone number: 01449 760313
- a ‘telephone tree’ support service, on 01449 760429, for anyone feeling lonely, or just in need of a chat
- Suffolk County Council ‘Home But Not Alone’ service on 0800 876 6926 (9am to 5pm, seven days a week)
It has never been more important that we support our community and look after our neighbours and ourselves. Please use the links and contact numbers on this website for the very latest information and to request any help and support you need during these unprecedented times.
Follow the latest Government instructions regarding Covid-19

The Coddenham Community Response Group (CCRG): who?
The CCRG is an exciting collaboration currently made up of representatives from the Coddenham Centre and website management (Andrew MacPherson), the Community Shop (Rod Stanley-Bell and David McDonnell), the Gardemau Trust, Haysel House and The Day Foundation (Tim Thomas), Coddenham Parish Council (TBA), St Marys Church and the Parochial Church Council, (Debbie McDonnell). There are many more volunteers who are helping to provide services and community support.
We meet virtually approximately bi-monthly or on demand, with notes on all our meetings available on request. We welcome representatives from the community either personally or through this website.
We exist solely to serve the community the best we can together.
You can help research on Covid-19
Help slow the spread of #COVID19 and identify at risk cases sooner by self-reporting your symptoms daily, even if you feel well. This now established tool is helping Kings College and the NHS research while sharing local and national data. It takes less than a minute to report. Perhaps it’s something we can do as a community, if we are not doing already?

This information should be seen in context as the number of tests being made affects the number of recorded cases reported. Fewer daily tests were being made at the start of the pandemic.
There are three simple actions we must all do to keep on protecting each other
Keep washing your hands regularly
Wear a face covering in enclosed spaces
Stay at least 2 metres apart – or 1 metre with a face covering or other precautions
Find out what you need to do
You must not meet in groups larger than 6 (with some limited exceptions)
