Many thanks to all those who supported St Mary’s Church last weekend.  It was a very busy weekend starting on Thursday evening with the VE Day beacon lighting and bell peal.  The History Club had also set up a fascinating display of WW2 memorabilia in the church.

On Saturday the Coffee Morning and Plant Sale was well supported and was followed by a visit from the Suffolk Historic Building Group for a tour of the church.  This was part of a visit by the group which included Crowfield and Hemingstone churches.

On Sunday evening St Mary’s hosted the Ipswich Hospital Band for a summer concert.  Their programme included music from the 1940s and reflected the VE Day theme.

Proceeds from the weekend’s events will contribute to the fundraising appeal for the repairs to the west window and masonry which is ongoing.

The service at St Mary’s on 18th May is Morning Worship at 9.30am.  All are welcome.
