The Parochial Church Council
At the heart of Coddenham Parish
The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is made up of clergy, churchwardens and up to six elected members. Any parishioner over 16, is a confirmed and active member of the church and is on the electoral roll can apply to be a member.
Elections take place at the Annual Parochial Church meeting (ACPM) held in the spring quarter each year. PCC business meetings are held at least four times a year. PCC members are the trustees of the Parish and are collectively responsible for the financial affairs of the church and the care and maintenance of the church fabric and its contents.
PCC has the responsibility, along with the incumbent, to promote the mission of God in its parish and has a voice in the forms of Service used and in helping to promote regular worship and church services celebrating the Christian calendar throughout the year.
PCC has a duty of care to ensure protection and safeguarding of the most vulnerable in the church community. Gavin Hailes is the nominated safeguarding officer and all PCC members have completed safeguarding training.
As well as the official business, PCC organises a number of events open to all residents, which help to provide vital funds to maintain our beautiful church of St Mary’s. The Saturday coffee morning, Christmas Band concert and flower festivals are particularly well supported.
