The Community Shop invites you to shop ‘Green’ this January.
Why drive to a supermarket or shopping centre when you can walk or cycle to the Community Shop, saving on time, petrol, pollution and parking costs? You can shop with friendly volunteer staff to help you and enjoy a coffee and home made cake at significantly cheaper prices than the high street coffee shops. What’s more our coffee is supplied by a Suffolk company – Freshpac from Haleswoth and our cakes are all made within 3 miles of the shop – truly local!!
Look out for other Suffolk made delights – Deepmills chocolate, Toatally granola, Suffolk honey from Creeting St Mary, Adnams beers and wines, Aspall cider, Stokes sauces, Hill Farm Oils, Alder Tree ice creams, Wendy’s cakes and eggs from Gate Farm, Flowton. Don’t forget our local cheeses sourced by Hamish Johnson – Baron Bigod, Pightle, Suffolk Gold etc. Our bread is delivered daily by the historic bakery, Palmers of Haughley, and our meat and pies are from local supplier Clarkes at Bramfield. Just some of our local Suffolk products.
Using these suppliers you get the very best quality products whilst helping local businesses to thrive. The Federation of Small Businesses has shown that for every £1 spent with a local business, around 63p stays in the local area. With larger businesses it’s closer to 40p.
Looking for a gift that helps support the environment? Look no further. Amazing bird boxes, hedgehog homes and bug hotels made by The Street Forge project at Thornham not only support a great charity but encourage wildlife into your garden
Our gift range of wooden items and decorations are crafted by local crafter Martin, using locally sourced wood. Our glass decorations are made by Anna who lives just just 10 miles away.
The staff and volunteers look forward to welcoming you in 2026.
