Forest Church Success
The North Bosmere Benefice hosted Forest Church at St Mary’s, Coddenham on Sunday 29th June; the first of this type of service in the Benefice. The plan was to celebrate God’s creation, enjoy each other’s company and have fun!
Rev. Helen Norris opened the session with a prayer and the ‘congregation’ set off along Broom Hill looking and listening for animals. Two activities were enthusiastically completed resulting in crowns decorated with leaves and bark rubbings. Returning to the churchyard a newly constructed bug hotel (thanks to members of Coddenham Parish Council) was furnished with desirable bug bedrooms. The hotel was blessed by Rev Norris and everyone joined in with an altered version of ‘He’s Got the Whole World in his Hands’ before enjoying a delicious picnic donated by the Gardemau Trust.
Despite the heat wave we all benefitted from taking time to really look at the wonders of creation around us.
Many thanks to all those who helped on the day and to those who supported this new venture.
