St Mary’s Church Appeal Update

As you are aware in January 2024 we launched a fundraising appeal for essential work needed to ensure our beautiful church is maintained in good repair for present and future generations.

Thanks to the generosity and support of the local community, the Gardemau Trust and othet grant providers, we have now raised 51k towards our target of 60k, which is fantastic news!

This breaks down as:

10k donation from the Gardemau Trust

10k match funding from the Gardemau Trust

7k grant from Suffolk Historic Churches

3k grant from the Benefact Group

3k grant from the Belstead Ganzoni Charitable Settlement

The remainder 18k has been raised through individual donations and fundraising events

Thank you to everyone who has helped us in our endeavours, whether that be in direct donations or supporting our fundraising events.

We hope to begin work on drainage improvements and glazing of the West window early in 2026 with other stonework to follow as funding allows.

Meanwhile we are continuing to fund raise and to seek further grant funding opportunities to achieve our target.
