The 8th May sees the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
Coddenham will join with the rest of the country to commemorate this occasion.
Many thanks to the History Club, particularly Sally and Sylvia, who have set up a wonderful display of wartime memorabilia in St Mary’s Church. This will be available to view whenever the church is open. Why not drop in to the Coffee Morning on Saturday 10th May and enjoy a coffee while you look at the display?
On Thursday evening (8th May), a beacon will be lit in the churchyard at 9.30pm followed by a peal of the bells. The Country Club will be open before and afterwards.
Tickets are still available for the Fish and Chip Supper on Saturday 10th May when the commemoration will continue with 1940s style entertainment provided by The Three Chordettes at The Coddenham Centre. Please buy your tickets from the Community Shop by Wednesday so that food can be ordered.
On Sunday 11th May St Mary’s welcomes The Ipswich Hospital Band for a Summer Concert which will include pieces to commemorate VE Day. Tickets £10 from The Community Shop or on the door.
