St Mary's Church Coddenham with Christmas tree in frost

This year the yew tree by the Church porch will be lit up to celebrate Christmas.

This will replace the Christmas trees along the path that we have decorated for the last two years.

Villagers are invited to hang decorations or messages on the tree to decorate it.  This could be to remember a loved one or in response to a local, national or international events that need our thoughts and prayers.  In this way the tree will serve as a symbol of light, reflecting the Christmas message of hope at a time when so much of the world seems dark and troubled.

We hope as many memebers of the community as possible will participate by hanging their decorations or messages any time from 12th December.

There will still be a traditional Christmas tree inside the Church as usual.

This year the Carol Service with the Benefice Choir is at 4.00pm on Sunday 18th December.

On Christmas Eve there will be a Crib and Christingle Service at 4.00pm celebrating the birth of Jesus, the light of the world.

The Christmas Communion Service is at 11.30pm on 24th December.

We look forward to welcoming you during the festive period.
