This year we welcomed Robin Collins as the latest Acting Chair of the Coddenham Community Response Group ( CCRG), on behalf of the Coddenham Country Club.

While the Coddenham Community Response Group is an informal collaboration, we do try to continue to rotate a chair position on a six-month rotation across all member organisations. The role is one of liaison with members, chairing our occasional meetings and supporting communication with the community that we serve.

Recently, we were delighted that Robin Collins, our Coddenham Country Club representative kindly agreed to take on the CCRG chair for the next six months.

Coddenham Country Club is a volunteer run organisation headed by a volunteer Committee elected yearly by members for which I am a small cog in the Club’s committee wheel. I am resident and homeowner in Coddenham, avid Ipswich Town football fan and father to a 9 year old son, so the village along with the Coddenham Country Club is important to me along with planning for its future for the next generation.

The Coddenham Country Club has over 150 memberships (including single, family and concessions). A minimal family or individual membership fee is charged on an annual basis which along with the surplus from the bar supports our overheads. The operational management committee hold monthly meetings to ensure the smooth running of the club, evaluate sales and membership engagement of our events programme as well as assessing how to encourage new and existing memberships and ensure we are securing the clubs future profitability and sustainability within the village.

The Country Club is deeply rooted in Coddenham’s rich history, and I and the committee are proud to continue to be a vital asset which helps to sustain a cohesive and supportive community environment where people of all ages can converge to enjoy a variety of drinks, for which I have always been prone to Suffolk’s finest, Aspall Cider.

As part of the committee the Club has continued with successful events such as; Quiz Nights, Horse racing nights, BBQs, The Pink Party, Beer Festivals and karaoke nights to name but a few. We have upcoming events such as the Horse Racing Night which is fun for all the family, and we will be open for the England World Cup 2026 so residents can enjoy supporting England through the competition.
